Dolls resembling Down¡¯s syndrome children offered at Syrian toy store help widen inclusivity

In an effort to make toys more inclusive, Syrian dollmaker Safa Hamadeh has created a line of crochet dolls with facial features similar to people with Down¡¯s syndrome. Customers visiting her store in Damascus on August 28, 2022, voiced appreciation for the creations meant to broaden inclusivity for Down¡¯s syndrome children and give them a reason to smile when they enter the shop.
